AG TIPS!!!
Here, you may send your own videos or paragraphs about how to care for your AG doll. Send them to [email protected] . ENJOY!

  • Wash first.  If you wash your hands before playing with your American Girl© Doll she will be kept clean for longer
  • Try to keep your doll out of the direct sunlight.  If she’s in the sun, all of your doll’s coloring will start to fade, including all her clothes.
  • Brush your doll's hair.  Try to do this every night.  Frequent brushing with a wire doll brush helps get out tangles and frizz.  If her hair does get tangled, put a little water on the brush to smooth it out.  Leave in conditioner also works well.
  • Use baking soda to clean your doll's face.  If your doll's face gets dirty or marked, put a little baking soda on a damp washcloth and then gently wash her face.  No need to dry it let it air dry afterwards.

For general cleaning of your doll’s vinyl parts, a gentle paste can be made of baking soda and water. Apply the paste using a circular motion, carefully rinse the vinyl, then dry with a towel. Be careful not to get the doll’s body wet. For very dirty vinyl and other stains, please call Customer Service at 1-800-845-0005 for assistance.

Your doll’s hair is a wig; it is not rooted. We NO LONGER SUGGEST that you wash and condition the doll's hair. The best way to remove tangles is to spritz the doll's hair with COLD water and use a wire wig brush to slowly work out the knots (working from the bottom up). DO NOT USE A BLOW DRYER OR HEAT OF ANY KIND. Kirsten and Molly’s hair wigs may be tightly braided while damp, and Samantha's hair can be set on rollers while damp (not wet). AIR DRY ONLY FOR ALL DOLLS.
